Busy, busy, busy. I am busy today trying to meet my query quota. I made myself a promise that I would get at least two queries out this week. I have managed to get one out, unfortunately I discovered that the magazine I sent it to just published the exact same topic in this month's issue! Dang! So close. I was on the right track but my timing was off. I guess that is somewhat encouraging.

I've also been busy trying to get subscribers for my newsletter - not as easy as it looks. There's so many great newsletters out there but I'm hopeful that some fellow writers might be interested in mine. I've got loads of experience in the writing industry (couple hundred clips to my name)and I've helped a few emerging writers along the way. Thus the waiting game begins.

Promoting my ebook has proved to be very time consuming. I don't know much about ebook promotions but I am learning fast. My ebook sales are practically non-existence but I have been holding off doing any serious promotions to let fellow writers get over the Christmas crunch and the bills associated there with. I am hoping sales will pick up by the end of the month.

Still trying to get the ebook ready to be sent. It will be housed at www.xxxxx.com. I have devised a marketing strategy that I hope will generate some interest. What I really need is to take some time off from my non-writing job and concentrate on all I have to do regarding the ebook launch. Too bad its an ebook, I would like to do a book launch at our local Chapter's store. Oh well, maybe next time.

I have been offered the position of Contest Co-ordinator with Brady Magazine. I'm flattered that I've been asked. I've been providing the editor with content for the Writer On Tap segment for quite awhile and I'm also the moderator for the freelance forum on the site.
This is an exciting opportunity. Something a little different to spice things up. The first contest won't take place until late this year or early next year. There's alot of work to do but I'm up for challenge.

I'm in the process of doing the final edit on my ebook. It feels like it is taking forever. Four people have already proofread it and I'm still finding mistakes. I was making my changes and I saved the changes to the wrong file. Ughhh! Now I'm more confused than ever. This has been a very long haul and I will be glad when the ebook is finished. I'm looking forward to moving on to other projects.

Ran into a bit of trouble with the ebook. I thought I had it all figured out but I decided to pursue another ebook publisher. I guess I was going to go with one that seemed easy and wasn't that well-known. My thinking was that if I messed up, it was an unknown site so the humilation wouldn't be that bad. So the ebook is done but it has nowhere to go for the meantime.

Still checking ebook sites out. I have one in mind but I want to make sure that I have my p's and q's in line and don't want to mess up with this one. This particular one is very well-known and it would be an honor if they accepted my book for their site.

My ebook was accepted for inclusion at booklocker.com - I am very happy! Booklocker.com has a great reputation and I am pleased to have my work hosted by them. Still working out the details but I am hopeful Obsessed: Diary of a Freelance Writer will be online soon. Kinda bad timing though - my original plan was to have my ebook online by the Fall. From a marketing standpoint, I think it would have been more effective to launch it then.
